A double lesson focusing on being able to identify and use common and proper nouns. Included in the resource is: A double lesson presentation that introduces key terms, gives the chance to practise and discuss before then applying this to activities. In the second lesson, there is also a quick-fire quiz to check they can tell the difference between common and proper nouns. Activities for each lesson - The first lesson includes two activities, one focusing on common nouns and one proper nouns. The first activity also includes a lower attainers activity to support understanding and accessing the tasks. Answer sheets are included for all these activities. The second lesson then includes two different potential activities to choose from. The first is a noun hunt, finding proper nouns and common nouns. This could be done in the classroom or around the school. The second potential activity is a sorting task with a challenge question at the end and an answer sheet included.

A double lesson focusing on being able to use and identify adjectives. Included in the resource is: A double lesson presentation that includes key discussions, examples and practise before then being able to move on independent activities. Activities for both lessons including: The first lesson having an activity where children use adjectives to describe images provided before then being asked to add an adjective to an already identified noun. No answer sheet is provided for this due to the open nature of the tasks. The second lesson activity then requires children to identify adjectives in a sentence before rewriting the sentences with different adjectives. An answer sheet is included as well as a support sheet for lower attainers that identifies the nouns to try and help them find the adjectives. There is also an adjective word mat included (black and white and coloured background versions) to support the various tasks.

A weeks worth of fully planned and resourced reading planning (based on 4 lessons in a week) from ‘Diary of a Killer Cat’. This is the second week following a week of lessons on the Monday and Tuesday extracts. Included in the resource are the full set of resources, including lesson PowerPoints, activities for each day and answer sheets where appropriate. The only thing required is a copy of Wednesday and Thursday (chapters three and four) for children to access. The week includes: Lesson 1 - Focus on vocabulary Lesson 2 - Sequencing events Lesson 3 - Retrieval Lesson 4 - Explaining answers using because Everything is uploaded as PowerPoints so that any tweaking or adapting can be done as necessary to respond to needs in your class.
